If I was O'Bama, I'd pick either Hillary or Hillary????? Not really a whole lot of honest democrats out there (actually there never was hehe).

What to do without a Space Shuttle fleet?

With the moth-balling of the Shuttle fleet quickly arriving, now what do we do as a country that has led the "Space Race" for so many years?

The president has said that we will refocus on the moon missions. What purpose do these missions serve the advancement of science? Least of all that the moon landing was a hoax to begin with. If we cannot fly a fleet of space shuttles, with 30 years of advanced technology around the Earth without blowing up a couple of the shuttles, then how in the world did we do the whole moon thing?

I know, moon conspiracy theorists are kooks and paranoid freaks with no scientific backing. Forget scientific backing and just look at normal facts:

Why was the "moon missions" suddenly abandoned? We should have an outpost on the Moon, yet we can't even build a Space Station without time and budget overruns and technological issues.

Something is just not right.

I never stopped to think just how much digital data is generated each day. Currently, 1,287,671,232,877 Megabytes are generated every 24 hours. I wonder who is storing the data, where is it stored, and how is it stored.

Virtual servers are a hot item for data centers. What is scary is that an InformationWeek poll found that 27% of data center engineers are using the "wink and a prayer" method of managing those servers.

Man on the Moon? NOT!!

As I was watching some of the space station coverage a few days ago on either public tv or space.com, my mind was jolted back to reality about our lunar missions.

There is no possible way that we ever sent men to the moon for some very solid scientific reasons.

-> Our technology today is very advanced, yet we have a very hard time launching s Space Shuttle.

-> The round trip distance to the moon and back is a very high (and unbelievable) statistic. Just the amount of fuel consumed in the non-gravity portion of the trip was approximately 30,000 kilograms - to travel a roundtrip track of 1.7 million kilometers.

-> A radiation field exists between Earth and the moon that is so strong that we currently do not have the technology to get human beings through without killing them.

I am not a super right wing conspiracy nut, but we must open our eyes and not let the government control the press (radio & TV). I am sorry if I have offended anyone - it's not our fault that the govenment faked this to give us a fake technological advantage in the world (and a huge morale boost to all Americans). If this story was made up and distributed throughout the world, just think how powerful our government is at manipulating local and global events.

I workded in the U.S. Military branch of the Army for 6 years with a Top Secret security clearance. The information I am offering here can be found in any blog or print media focued on the lunar missions.

My opinion for John McCains is to choose Mike Huckabee as his VP running mate. If this was to happen, the general election would be a landslide in favor of the Republicans.

I was reading the 5/12/2008 Fortune magazine and found some very interesting bits of information that reflects the good / bad of the moment in history that we are living in.

-> Liberals think bad things about Big Oil and Big Gas companies. Their vision has been skewed thanks to the media. The real deal is that a major portion of those "evil" companies are owned by pension and IRA funds. So my opinion is that most liberals will count on Big Oil / Big Gas to retire. So making a new law that would tax profits is hurting everyone, regardless of political view.

-> One of the best funds to park your retirement money is Vanguard Wellington (VWELX).

-> Our old cell phones, old monitors, and old computers are being shipped to third world countries land fills. That is horribly wrong and needs to be corrected.

GUILT

My wife & I had the opportunity to attend a service at First Church of God in Winter Haven Florida. The topic was GUILT and was taught by Senior Pastor Alan J. Thomas.

I never stopped and really gave guilt much thought. After today's sermon, it was very clear that GUILT is a very powerful and terrible thing to face.

Here is how some of the people from the Bible dealt with GUILT the wrong way:

-> Try to hide it.
-> Try to run from it.
-> Try to blame others.
-> Try to justify it.

Here is the right way to deal with GUILT:

->> Recognition
->> Restitution
->> Redemption

Pastor Thomas really made things clear about GUILT - if you deal with GUILT the proper way(s), this life and the next will truly be enjoyable!

Unbelievable blunder by software giant SAP

I am really starting to understand why Software Engineers and Software Companies are sometimes seen as sketchy or down-right lacking basic morales.

Case in point - SAP charges Waste Management $100 million dollars for vapor ware. At our house here in Florida, Waste Management is our trash collector. They are VERY reliable, nicely priced, and use the latest technologies to handle the very nasty task of garbage management.

Shame on SAP for running a scam on a company that is truly trying to turn trash into useful items (like capturing methane from their landfills and powering homes by burning that methane).

Political Rant : Wolf in Sheep's costume

I have to say that this Presidential political season is like something I have never seen before or read about throughout history.

It appears to me that the religious leader for Presidential candidate Barack Obama is a wolf in a sheeps costume and he forgot to zip up the back of the costume, exposing himself for what he truly is (thank God to all of us Americans for that).

As a disciple of Christ, a dedicated husband, a six year veteran of the U.S. Army's Military Intelligence Corp, and a sensible person - I have been fighting against the very hate that Jeremiah Wright is spreading like wild fire.

All I can say that is Galatians 6:7 says that you reap what you sow. So, Jeremiah Wright, I believe you will soon be reaping all the seeds of hate that you have sowed.

Cool Web App from Google : GrandCentral

I was looking around the Google site today.....really looking to getting started programming in GWT. I did find all of the GWT stuff....however, I ran into an application called GrandCentral (www.grandcentral.com). This application gives you a free phone number and provides a dashboard for managing the free phone number. One of the common ways I use it is when I am not at home - I enter my business phone number, my home phone number, and my cell number into the GrandCentral application and configure it so that all incoming calls are linked to my GrandCentral phone number. That number is pointing to my cell phone. So an inbound call on my Grand Central, home, business, or cell phone all go to my cell phone. Just a really neat application and is priced in the retail sweet spot of FREE!!!

Home Owner's Association (HOA) rant # 1

got a letter in the mail.....

I HAD a Mike Huckabee for President sign in my front yard. I received a letter from my HOA the other day. I really had no idea why I would be getting a letter from them. We have paid our HOA dues for all of 2008, I just had tons of landscaping work done, and I thought I was following all of the gazillion rules of living on my 50' x 100' lot in the Stagecoach subdivision.

The letter informed me to immediately remove my political sign because it was against one of those gazillion rules we must follow.

The land of the free and the home of the brave - just no political signs in your front yard, thank you so kindly.
